My Boys - Terry Nelson - USA

I made up another lay out for CSI: ( Color, Stories, Inspiration)
This one is for the second Case File of the month No. 230

These are my two sons at my oldest sons wedding.  I just love this photo of them all dressed up in front of the fabulous view.  They are grown men now but forever they will be my boys.  😊

Here is how I solved the case...

Scheme: All the colors,
lavender, off-white, light sage green, gray, light blue, sort of a cadet blue ...Check
Evidence :
I have Flowers, stars, metal and rhinestones. ...Check

Testimony / Topic:

Journal about a road trip or a group gathering.  and I tucked my journaling tag behind the layers of the center (photo)
...Check!

I really wanted to use this photo, even though the lavender color isn't usually considered masculine.  So I minimized the lavender.  But I like how the small touches of it look on the page.
I have used Maja Designs "Vintage Summer Basics" papers, Prima "Craftsman" papers, and even a piece of Anna Griffin paper (The lavender piece in the layers at the photo).
I punched spots of the background paper with a matha stewart punch.  Distressed all the paper edges even the photo.  I have painted and textured chipboard (the circle frame, gears and stars).  I have some metal gears.   I muted the colors of the flowers with gesso. Mixed up a bunch of different beads and some old rhinestone beads.  Added silver micro beads
To me it has a masculine feel but the light colors accent the spacious openness of the view behind my boys.
It's fun to work with the CSI challenges, and get my pictures on some lay outs for a change.

Thank you for taking a look! ❤️

Fun in the water - Terry Nelson - USA

Here is the lay out I created for CSI: ( Color, Stories, Inspiration)
Major Case File No. 229  May Challenge

These pictures are of my grandson playing in the water with his grandpa.
They are a couple of years old, taken in 2014.

Here is how I solved the case...

Scheme: All the colors...Check
Evidence :
I have Stripes, Flowers, and Something loopy. ...Check

Testimony / Topic:

"Liam
Fun in the water
.

Pemigewasset river,
Hobbit Hill Farm"
...Check!
I used Maja Designs "Crea Diem" for background papers.

I gessoed some circles by actually banging the almost empty gesso bottle on the paper.  I was trying to get more out and it looked cool so I just banged it here there and every where.
Then I used modeling paste, stamps.  I die cut the flourishes in teal and white then used clear embossing powder on them.  They are supposed to look like splashes.
I painted the wooden fish gray, and added some detail.
The topic was created in photo shop and printed from my computer.

So happy with the way it turned out. ❤️
Thank you for taking a look
